Narrative Plaques Set 2
(In reference to the four Mele Mural panels closest to Longs Drug Stores)
The four Mele Murals long this wall collectively represent pono (harmony and balance). Harmony and balance from a Hawaiian perspective sees that what is in heaven is also on earth and what is on land is balanced by its counterpart in the ocean.
To be pono is to be connected in harmony with na lani (the heavens), na kupuna (our ancestors), na aumakua (our guardians), ke akua (the supreme), ka ‘Aina (the land) and kanaka (the people).
We encourage you to discover all the kaona (hidden meanings, secret gems) within these walls - our makana (gift) to you.
